Navid Mashinchi (Persian: نوید ماشینچی, born February 16, 1989 in Düsseldorf) is a German-born Iranian soccer player who plays for UBC Thunderbirds.

Mashinchi began his career in Germany, playing in the U-15 and U-17 teams of German third division club Fortuna Düsseldorf.[1]
After moving with his family to Canada in the mid 2000s Mashinchi joined the Vancouver Whitecaps residency program, simultaneously playing club soccer with the Westside FC Rangers U-21 side of the Vancouver Metro Soccer League U-21 Division. Mashinchi scored who scored 14 goals in 15 games[2] for Westside in 2006.
Mashinchi played with the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency in Europe in 2007,[3] and in the team's first USL Premier Development League season in 2008, before being called up to the senior Vancouver Whitecaps side.[4] He made his professional debut on July 23, 2008, in a game against Charleston Battery.[5] After releasing in January 2009 was re-signed on 1 May 2009 from Vancouver Whitecaps.[6] In November 2009, Mashinchi has joined Petrochimi Tabriz F.C. After a short spell in Iran, Mashinchi returned to Canada to study at the University of British Columbia and play for the University team UBC Thunderbirds.
Mashinchi has played for the Iran U-18 team since 2006, and played the in several Olympic qualification games with the Iran national under-23 football team in 2008. In Summer 2011, Mashinchi represented Canada during the XXVI Summer Universiade, which was hosted in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.
